There are over 53,000 images that have been accumulated over the last 12 years on the AGS website. These have been uploaded in articles and in members' contributions. Many of these images will continue to be used to illustrate plants in the Encyclopaedia.
The Digital Image Library is a more formal collection of images that will continue to be developed. Many of the images in this are from shows, but it is being extended to include plants in the wild and in gardens. The Digital image library can be searched, by plant names, photographer names, show names, exhibitor names, countries etc.
We also run an annual Photographic competitions and all entries in the competition are also stored in the image library. Information about previous winners and links to previous entries in the image library can be found here.
At the AGS centre, there is a collection of over 60,000 slides that also form part of the AGS mage Library. As these are digitised, they will be incorporated in the digital library.
